Microsoft goes security patch crazy

A total of 31 vulnerabilities are addressed in security updates for software, Microsoft said.

According to the Microsoft Security Bulletin, software with vulnerabilities include Windows and Office – six are marked as critical allowing strangers to take over a PC by exploiting vulnerabilities in its software.

A vulnerability in IE 8 is addressed and Microsoft also gives a list of whether it’s likely or not that code will be exploited by the black brothers.

In addition, Microsoft has updated its malicious software removal tool.

As well as the updates to be downloaded, Microsoft is also hosting a webcast today to answer questions about these bulletins at 11:00 AM Pacific Time. It will offer this webcast on demand if you don’t have time to tune in then.
