Redmond (WA) – It’s the time of the month again – Microsoft software users will get three important security updates next week and receive an updated Malicious Software Removal Tool (MSRT). Mark your calendars for Tuesday morning.
The patch day will deliver three updates affecting Windows 2000 Server SP4, XP SP2, SP3 and x64, Server 2003 SP1 and SP2, Server 2008 as well as Vista and Vista SP1. The patches are expected to close two (“important”) spoofing problems and one (“critical”) remote execution vulnerability in those operating systems.
Microsoft will also release an updated version of its MSRT via its various update services and download database. Users who are interested in detailed information about the release can sign up for a Tuesday 11 am PST webcast, during which Microsoft will provide further information about all patches and updates.
